Dear Church Family -
We would like to introduce you to Themoli. Themoli joined one of our Beautiful Bindings Sewing Centers recently. We started this new group of ladies one month ago and they will continue to learn the skill of sewing for six months. 0n our first weekly prayer meeting, that we held with this group, as soon as we started singing and teaching the women worship songs, Themoli immediately began crying. The crying continued through the entire worship. As we were teaching the ladies from God’s Word, she continued crying. After the devotion was finished, she spoke up and told us her story. Themoli was born into a Hindu family(which is the case for all our students). When she was college age, she came to know about Jesus Christ. She had gone away to college for a short time and there she was introduced to Jesus. She fell in love with Jesus and was even secretly baptized without her family having any knowledge of this. Shortly after her baptism, her family forced her into a marriage with a Hindu man. She had no way out of this marriage unless she wanted to be outcast from her family. Once she was married, the man found her Bible and threw it out, forbidding her to read it. Her husband is very controlling and will only allow her to leave her home with his permission. She has now been married for 11 years and since her marriage, she has not been in a church or been able to read the Bible. Themoli signed up for our sewing program, simply to get out of her home and to learn a trade to help her family. She said she had no idea that when she signed up that we were Christians. When we began today with praying to Jesus and then
teaching songs about Jesus, she became overwhelmed with emotions. This was the first time in 11 years that she has been able to openly sing and worship Jesus. Since our first encounter, we have continued our prayer meetings weekly. We have been able to give Themoli another Bible, which she keeps at the sewing center for fear her husband will find it and again throw it out. Just yesterday, after our prayer meeting we were talking with Themoli and she is desperately wanting to be able to join our church and fellowship with other believers in order to grow spiritually. She has not told her husband that she is a believer in Jesus and she is very afraid of what he will do when he finds out. She has no support other than her husband and her fear is that he will force her out of her home and away from her children if he learns of her faith in Jesus Christ. Themoli is asking for prayers. She is asking that we pray for her family to come to know the love of Jesus Christ. As her husband forces her to go to the Hindu temples with him for worship, she is asking for courage and boldness to stand strong for her faith in Jesus. Also, she is desperately wanting the opportunity to attend church services to grow spiritually. Please be praying for her husband’s heart to soften and for him to allow this to happen.
It’s often hard for us Western believers to understand Themoli’s situation. It rarely costs us anything to worship freely and openly. We believe that God has brought her to our sewing center for the purpose of reigniting her love and relationship with Jesus Christ. This was no accident that she has joined Beautiful Bindings. I am not wanting to share Themoli’s story on social media for safety reasons, but do want to share her story with our supporting churches and ask you all to pray fervently for Themoli and her family. Jesus loves Themoli and He has a beautiful plan for her! Please share with your church leadership team, congregation, missions team so we can all be praying for Themoli! Thank you!
In Christ,
